week 15

We had a test this morning, for me the test was alright but I did not answer 3 question one was about Long tail, others I cannot remember what was the question.

In the tutorial I finished off my YouTube project. But I do not have YouTube account to upload my video. So I asked my friend Long Tran if he can use his account to upload the video for me.
He's ok with that and he finally uploaded it up for me. Here is the URL to it;

project B #2

I just started to edit my Youtube Video, and some problem have arise because I want to put some text in and want to make my 2 videos play at the same time, but forgot how to do that.

Plus, now my laptop keeping over heated 3 times already, so I am giving up now and will try again tomorrow.
However, I wish that I will get it done before Tuesday. So, I can show it to Nathan in the tutorial. and ask him for suggestion.

OHHHH.... and we have test on Tuesday 28th October Room 6B10 9:30am,,,,,, better start do some reading now.

Project B

Firstly, I was going to make my video like a documentry that interview the students in the class.
the aim of the documentary was explored on what are they using Youtube for and what do they think about YouTube. But yesterday I had came up with the new idea for my video and the idea was about to show 2 sides of YouTube, bad and good.
So I drew my new storyboard yesterday and arranged to shot my Youtube video. Therefore now I only have to deal with the editing part.

My video was shot in the computer lab (building 10). Poupee (my friend) is the starring of my video. Firstly, the timing problem was arise, because I tried to shot 2 videos that look like it being shot at the same time. It might sound confuse but if you take a look on my video you will understand what I'm trying to say.

So, the way that I deal with the timing problem was I opened the computer and lets Poupee watched it as the same time as I'm shooting.

week 14

Nathan is not here again, so the class was ran by Michael.
Michael showed us a few more examples of Data visualization.
.....he also mention about the Quiz that it is going to be in the lecture time and it's going to be about everything that we have learned.

Then, Michael talk about project B of student individually.
I showed him my storyboard and he suggested that it is ok.

He said,
I just have to make it fun and interesting,
and not to long talking
may be I can use quick editing
and don't make the questions that I'm going to ask the interviewer too structure,
don't fixed the question. lets them say anything they like.

week 13

Week 13, Nathan was absent, so the tutorial was ran by Michael Honey.
I was about 15 minutes late and when I showed up the computer was full, so I did have a chance to do anything in class.
However, I showed up in another tutorial on Wednesday afternoon, it is Max Wheeler's class.
I talked to him about the option #3, which is YouTube thing. Max showed me few examples of how I can do my video. One of them was the Vimeo video, the video look like a documentary about Tumblr. and I think that is kind of thing that I wanted to do.

After the class, I started to draw my storyboard.

week 12

In the tutorial Nathan explained about Production Project B (Option 2 and 3)

Option 2:
Nathan showed some websites that give us an idea about what he means by crate and structure a photographic tour.
the website that he showed are:

then he clicked to the Flickr page to show the class how to put the images from Flickr to the map.


After that, Nathan asked every one to open the Yahoo Pipes webpage. then he teach us the create our Pipe.

week 11

Week 11 tutorial Nathan explain about the Project B (option 1)
I talked to Nathan about the Production Project B that I might chose the option number 3 about the YouTube video.

Due to my lack of reading skill, I misunderstood that the VDO have to be about YouTube itself.
At first I though that the VDO can be anything and after It had been uploaded in to YouTube website I have to critique and analysis the service.
so, talking to Nathan was worth.


Nathan also talked about 'data visualisation' in the tutorial. he showed us WE FEEL FINE website. The website was able to search how many people have written the the word arty, love, happy.....etc in their blog, then all the blogs that have the word that we looking for will show up on the page.

Data visualization is about present the data in the easy way to read and understand. In the lecture we were discussing about how we can use scale, colour, shape, position and movmet to help us understand the data

and one example that was shown in the lecture was the way that we added commas at each three digits of the number the make it easier to read. like 3,000,000. So, when we see the number we will know immediately that it is 3 million not 3 hundred thousand.
